Portugal and the Algarve

I need a holiday badly, but again i have left it till the last minute.

No probs though, as, thank the lord, I hate warm weather, so taking a december vacation is totally ok with me,.

So, after some thought, i decided to visit portugal, or specifically, the algarve.

This delightful mediterranean/atlantic country is one of my favourite holiday destinations, the portuguese are extremely warm people, but not as excitable as the other med countries. Dining out in any part of portugal is a gastronomic treat, and bloody cheap compared to other destinations.

So, where in the algarve am i going to stay?.

Checking out all the 'villa rental' sites on the internet, I found one vacation villa site that offered villas in the algarve that really stood out. - villaretreats.com. They don't just provide the normal villa rental service, but a load of unique selling points that made them stand out from the crowd.

They offer a villa price match promise, a guarantee that they have visited every one of their algarve villas personally, an offer to book your flights for you, a 24 hour emergency number and a pre-booking service that can provide me with a personal chauffeur, a personal chef, babysitters etc

Being a poor sort of chap, i can't afford all of these but having a nice list of services like that gave me a warm feeling that i was in good hands.

Now i need to decide which resort i want, Carvoeiro, Villamoura, Alto club and Portimao all look interesting, guess i will need to consult my wife on that one.
